With these easy yet impressive sweet pies you can "Bake Love", and not just on Valentine's Day!
1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
2. Unroll refrigerated Puff Pastry Dough on enclosed parchment paper to baking sheet. Use heart-shaped cutter to cut out 8 dough pieces. Discard remainder of dough or recombine on a separate sheet and cut an additional heart.
3. Top each of 4 hearts with 1 heaping tablespoon of cherry pie filling. Brush the outside edges with butter to help hold the seal. Close each with second heart-shaped dough piece. Using a fork, seal the edges by pressing down all around each heart. Brush with butter & sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
4. Place the hearts on the sheet with 2 inches between them. Cut two small slits in the top of each with a small knife. Bake at 400°F until golden brown, about 15 -20 min.
5. Serve with your favorite brand of chocolate sauce for dipping, or try this easy and yummy homemade dark chocolate sauce recipe: Place the chocolate, heavy cream and vanilla in a microwave safe dish for one minute on medium power. Remove from the microwave and stir with a fork or a whip until smooth. Serve immediately.
