These lean turkey meatballs paired with pizza dough make the perfect party appetizer.
1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
2. Unroll refrigerated Classic Pizza Dough on enclosed parchment paper and place on a baking sheet. Line a second baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
3. In bowl, combine ground turkey, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, parsley, red pepper flakes, salt and garlic. Form into 1-inch meatballs.
4. Take the baking sheet with the pizza dough and cut the long side vertically into 12 strips. Next, thread the dough through the skewer and then through the meatball. Snake the dough around the meatball and skewer again, then add another meatball. Repeat one more time and then end by skewering the dough again. Spread out so there is approx. 1/4 in. between the dough and meatballs, to allow them to cook properly. Place evenly between the 2 lined baking sheets.
5. Bake for 15-18 minutes until the meatballs are cooked. Remove from oven and sprinkle with mozzarella and place back in oven for 2 minutes. Serve with warm marinara sauce.
